Hamilton, Brook, Smith & Reynolds, P.C. Elects Samuel Sussman as Principal

Hamilton, Brook, Smith & Reynolds, P.C. is excited to announce that Samuel Sussman has been elected a Principal of the firm.
Sam has been an integral part of the Hamilton Brook Smith Reynolds team since joining the firm in 2016. His practice includes patent, trademark, and trade secret litigation matters before the Massachusetts Federal Court, Federal Circuit, and other Federal Jurisdictions. He has extensive experience as a litigator protecting and asserting clients’ intellectual property rights. Sam has experience in inter partes review and post-grant review petitions including preparing petitions that have succeeded in the institution of trials and in defending against institution of trials by the PTAB of the USPTO.
Sam handles patent prosecution, transactional, and contested matters in a wide range of subject areas, including computer architecture, fiber optics, machine learning, physics, materials science, and medical diagnostics.
He obtained his J.D. from Cornell Law School.

Sam is an active member of Boston's legal community. He serves on the Board of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, co-chairs the FBA’s Intellectual Property Law Section for the Massachusetts Chapter and is a member of the Boston Intellectual Property Law Association. In 2024, he was recognized as a Rising Star by Massachusetts Super Lawyers. He is a frequent speaker on matters related to updates to US patent and trademark law.
