Carey Goldberg, the host of WBUR’s CommonHealth Section, led a “Fireside Chat” with the four Featured Honorees, asking them to speak in detail about their respective fascinating inventions.

This year’s event was held on a new virtual video-based platform called Remo, which provided attendees the opportunity to network at virtual tables with colleagues as well as with the Honorees. During a virtual “cocktail hour,” the innovative Remo platform gave individual attendees freedom to meet with a group of other attendees and inventor(s) at a virtual table to hear about the inventor(s) invention that interest them most and to connect at other virtual tables with fellow BPLA members. Attendees had the freedom to move to any virtual table to hear about all of the honored inventions. Additionally, attendees heard from Featured Honorees during a “fireside chat” with an interviewer.

AGENDA

  • 6:00 – 7:00 PM – Virtual Cocktail Hour and Meet the Honorees: Attendees will have the chance to meet with inventors (at virtual tables via the Remo video networking platform) to learn more about respective patented innovations, as well to network with other attendees.
  • 7:00 – 7:15 PM – Welcome Ceremony of the 2020 Invented Here! Honorees: Roll call of innovators and their innovations!
  • 7:15 - 8:15 PM - Interviews with Featured Honorees: Our interviewer(s) will have a virtual fireside chat with this year’s Featured Honorees, during which we will hear answers to questions about their respective inventions, personal stories that led to their inventions, their innovative spirits, and other human interest topics.
  • 8:15 – 8:45 PM – Networking: Video chat networking with Honorees and other attendees at virtual tables.
